Three Peonies II

Artist Statement

In this large, extravagant work, I explore the composition of three peonies in full bloom, capturing their vitality and movement through a dynamic interplay of color and form. Rather than relying solely on traditional gray shading, I introduce a spectrum of colors to sculpt depth and energy, allowing the petals to pulse with life. The white blooms emerge powerfully against a black background, heightening the drama and luminosity of the composition.

The petals extend outward, reaching toward the edges of the canvas in an expression of expansion and vitality, evoking both the fleeting beauty of nature and its enduring presence. This work continues my exploration of floral forms as symbols of divine elegance—where light, movement, and color come together to create a sense of the eternal within the ephemeral.
